DECK PLUMBING

A single Cummins Turbo-charged QSB5.9-305 MCD diesel engine of 227kW (305Hp) at 2600rpm is fitted.

A 4-bladed 813mm (32") diameter Brunton Varifold folding propeller is connected to the engine via a 63mm diameter stainless steel propeller shaft, through a stainless steel custom fabricated P-bracket and stern gland fitted with a remote greaser.

STEERING SYSTEM

Upgraded with extra functions for in-mast furling rig.

When combined with Lewmar generator PTO shaft it enables the windlass and thruster to be run at the same time, but each with reduced power. All sail functions can run off the PTO in an emergency.

A remote control panel is fitted with remote pressure gauge, pressure valve and product flow meter, so unit can be started and controlled from one location. This unit is able to discharge into port, starboard or both tanks at once.

HOT WATER                         
From two insulated 93 litres approximately (20 imp gallons/24 US gallons) tanks heated by the engine’s heat exchanger, or by thermostatically-controlled 220v, 2kw immersion heater elements powered by the generator or dockside power. Each tank is fitted with a thermostatic safety blender valve.

Freshwater system upgraded to include a second twin coil calorifier serving aft end of

boat only. (Single pump and no changeover valves, etc.). All hot water pipes to be


Second Groco freshwater pump with pressure relief valve, so that normally the aft end of the boat runs off one pump and the forward end off the other, whilst in an emergency the entire boat can run off either pump.

Calpeda AC powered high capacity freshwater pump and outlet in halyard locker for rapid filling of inflatable pool on foredeck. Pump valved so it can draw from either tank. Switch just inside sail locker hatch and AC socket in fo’c’sle plus DC socket in halyard locker.

HOLDING TANKS                 Polyethylene (HDPE) toilet holding tanks are installed for all four of the WCs. Each tank is configured for gravity discharge with additional ability to pump out from on deck. The tanks are fitted with electric tank capacity gauges.

Grey water tank and pump fitted outside of aft cabin with soundproofing.


MANIFOLD SYSTEM             
Three manifold systems, one forward and two aft. The aft two manifolds are a bronze fabrication with one dedicated to the engine and generator and the other dedicated to refrigeration, air conditioning and other optional equipment. Both fed by a 63mm intake seacock and Aquafax heavy-duty 50mm chromed bronze strainer.

The forward manifold is stainless steel and is fed by a 38mm seacock and strainer.

All seacocks dezincification resistant (DZR) copper alloy quarter-turn ball valves.

The main engine and generator exhausts have a GRP standpipe (without seacock).



SHIP’S SUPPLY                   24v.

220v AC ring main with 10 double, 13 Amp, 3-pin Clipsal outlet sockets located as appropriate within the layout. Units are from the Vimar "Idea" Range with black chrome "Classica" surrounds.

10 x double sockets throughout with combined single UK socket and single Australian socket in a double Vimar bezel as standard.12 x additional sockets throughout with combined single UK socket and single Australian socket in a double Vimar bezel.1 x double watertight socket on the forward bulkhead in the lazarette. 1 x double watertight socket on the aft bulkhead in the engine room, port side. 1 x double watertight socket on the aft bulkhead in the fo'c'sle on starboard side behind the door. 1 x single watertight socket in the fo’c’sle, high up aft of the deck hatch. Shaver socket in each heads. Dri-plug in anchor locker for anchor light. 1 x 24v waterproof socket at the pedestal.  High amperage 12v socket in halyard bin for inflating pool on foredeck.  Headlining sockets for fans: 2 in owner’s cabin, aft port cabin and forward port cabin; 1 in starboard aft cabin, forward starboard cabin and galley.  1 x 12v cigarette lighter socket at the chart table and one in the aft cabin for recharging phones etc.

A bank of 12 x 6v batteries is wired in series to give approximately 920 Amp hours at 24v for the domestic supply. These batteries are heavy-duty, 'deep-cycle' Varta type.

Power from a separate 88 Amp hour 12v generator starting battery.

All batteries are positively secured against inversion in the case of a knockdown.

All battery stowage areas are vented to the exterior of the vessel.

8 Surrette Rolls heavy-duty 6v units in a single bank to give 1640Ah, fitted with Hydrocaps for minimum water loss.

Buffer bank of 12v gel batteries to run electronics and computers, charged with 24v DC to 12v DC converters off the main 24v bank. Fitted with separate monitoring and dropper failure lights.

BATTERY MANAGEMENT                               
2 x 100 Amp Mastervolt chargers with one having variable intake control on panel.              1 x extra 24v, 100 Amp Mastervolt charger, Provides 300 Amps of charging off generator only. Mastervolt Alpha Pro regulator. Masterview Easy Control Panel acting as a voltmeter and ammeter to accurately monitor the ship's batteries. Emergency link system between the domestic 24v battery bank and the 24v engine start battery.

Mastervolt MASS 24/5000 sine wave inverter. Additional inverter for icemaker only.                                     

2 x 32 Amp dockside power cables, each 3-core double-insulated PVC, 23m (70') in length. Hubbell sockets are located in the transom. The dockside end of the cables are fitted with a 3-pin, 32 Amp plug.
